Becoming a legend -Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao, Filipino Superman
The Pacquiao tale has always been one loaded with controversy and inspiration, how the kid from the back streets of a troubled city left home at 14 and sold fish and doughnuts to make ends meet before rising to the top of the toughest sport of all.
People’s champ, Manny Pacquiao from the Philippines once again proved he is the best pound for pound boxer in the world.
The busy streets of Manila, Cebu, Davao and other cities in the Philippines activities could paused for a moment just to see Manny demolished his rivals in the boxing ring. However, there is more about Manny, and he is battling outside the ring-politics.
After Manny’s defeat last Philippine election some early speculation that he is not capable of handling government position. With all due respect of the matter, I think Filipino people should give him a chance to prove himself in the world of politics or governance.
He may not have that good educational background (for now) but what matters most is the heart and willingness to help for the constituents. In my opinion, he is really serious in entering politics; in fact he already enrolled in one of the premier university in General Santos City.
People that are spreading rumors and bad news about Manny’s capabilities are those people who don’t trust his intellectual capability. These are also the people who don’t want to be overthrown and don’t want to be out of tune in the government.
Mind you, there are those politicians and government officials that are famed being intelligent but do not have the heart just like Manny’s.
Many “intelligent people” are now in the government but look at how tainted and putrid our socio- political status right now .
I think everybody deserves a chance to prove himself of a certain capability, one way or another. How will we know if he can or he can’t if we don’t give him a chance?
We don’t know he may be our only hope in changing our current socio-political status.
We might even see him in Malacañang Palace someday.
