The Power of Diamonds: Glamour and Riches

Diamond is made up of highly compact carbon and known to be the hardest thing on earth. It is also the most precious and valued ones stone in the world. Having a diamond is worth a fortune, and everybody seems wanted to have one. However, it’s for all and not all can afford one. A diamond can be worth millions depending on its clarity and sparkle and carat (weight). It’s just so amazing a single stone can be worth millions.

In December 10, last year, London, a 35.56 carat rare blue diamond earlobe of a German aristocrat was sold 16.Million pounds (equivalent to $24.3 million today).

Recently, a 7.03 carat blue diamond was sold 9.5 million dollars in Sotheby's auction house (world's third oldest auction house in continuous operation) in Geneva.

The numbers were staggering, I know. However, people are extravagant, just to have that power of diamonds and to emanate glamour and riches.

It’s not surprising why most Hollywood personalities have their own diamond collections. Catherine Zeta-Jones has 10 carat antique marquise diamond engagement ring from Michael Douglas worth 2 Million.

Madonna has three-stone diamond ring (antique Edwardian) with a decorative platinum band from actor-director, Guy Ritchie.

Controversial actresses, Britney Spears and Paris Hilton also received diamond engagement rings. Britney has a $40,000, 4 carat cushion-cut diamond ring. Paris has two diamond engagement rings, a million 24 carat canary diamond ring and a .1 million 15 carat white diamond ring.

Diamond is already part of the rich and famous’ fashion style. Furthermore, diamonds are already embarked with history, especially with the rich and the glamorous.
